When I become a teacher, I am going to use Etsy for many things. There are amazing lesson planners that teachers can buy or even just be inspired by. There is also a bunch of cute classroom decor that I will definitely use!

I could apply assistive technologies for diverse learners by getting those brail computer keyboard silicon covers. I would also make sure that every power point can be printed out and changed to brail or with speech buttons so they can hear me talk whenever. Another one would be applying grips or duct tape to pencils, markers, and pens to help students use them more efficiently.

Working with Diigo. I can use this in the classroom as a way of teaching my students how to be resourceful. This could help my students with finding websites and information for studies or papers that they have to do. This can also help each other, show each other more resources. It is also helpful because instead of having to read through the whole website, there is a little section where you write your notes on it so you can just get sorrows information from there.

Especially with Covid occurring, teachers have gotten very equipped to doing almost all of their teaching online. Whether it is through resources like canvas or Google classroom, that are learning platforms, or online games or PowerPoints, teacher are online.
I know a lot of the teaching I am going to be doing in the future will be online, especially because most people have access to online resources.  Instead of paper towels, most test our online now.

blog 6

I never new Diigo existed before this class, and honestly, I am not the biggest fan. In general, I don’t really get the whole concept of it. If I want to look at a source, I’ll just read it. I don’t really need comments from other people. Especially if they didn’t read the whole thing and they leave out important parts in their comments.

I started blogging in junior year in high school. My teacher made us submit long blogs every week and read/comment on our classmates posts. I like blogging a lot, I think its cool that you can post your thoughts on subjects and see others views as well. I learned a lot back in high school about writing techniques, and now in this class, I'm just learning technology based information.
A Web 2.0 tool that I'm going to use for my students is Quizlet. I have used Quizlet my whole life. It has helped me study for exams and quizzes. This will be a great tool for my students to help them not only memorize terms but also learn them. This app and website has many learning formats and also some games to play.

blog 5

I started using Twitter when I was in middle school, mostly to see what my favorite celebrities were doing and to talk to my friends. Twitter can be helpful in my future career because I can ask questions to everyone or ask for words of advice from fellow teachers.
The digital divide is the difference between those who have access to forms of technology, and those who do not. Digital divide can effect students success because some may not have the same ability to access information and complete assignments like others do. In classrooms, some people may not have computers, therefore, I will make accomodations for them. Let them come before and after school to work on their assignments, or find a way through the school to give them laptops.
My experience on Canvas while working on assignment two was okay, not hard. The platform was fine, I used Google classroom when I was in high school, which is pretty similar to Canvas so I was fine learning how to use it. I would use Canvas for my future students for homework assignments and lesson plans.

cplams

The Florida Computer Science Standards is through the website CPALMS, and sets standards for students using computers to learn how to effectively manage them for future endeavors. Each new section has different benchmarks that the teachers can use to ensure their students are learning. For example, one benchmark is “Conduct basic keyword searches, and exchange information and feedback with teachers and other students (e.g., e-mail and text messaging).” This is free to access, and will help teachers lesson plan so they know exactly what they should be teaching students.

I decided to choose first grade because that is the grade level I’ve always wanted to teach. I chose the English section, specifically the benchmark “Identify and describe the main story elements in a story.” There are three clarifications for this section, focusing on the main story elements, characters, and setting. Each describes what the student should know at their age level. Currently I feel prepared to implement this standard because I love writing and reading, and I know exactly how I will teach it. After each book, I will have a piece of paper to give to each student with setting, characters, main story etc all lined up to provide a visual and to help the students actually understand the story.

Collaborate, Plan, Align, Learn, Motivate, and Share, abbreviated to CPALMS, is an online resource that teachers use as a tool for standards of teaching. This is free of charge, as long as you are a teacher located in Florida at a public school. Grades range from PreK to twelfth grade. It also provides course descriptions. This is a helpful website because I know I will use it in the future to make sure I know what my students should be learning in each subject, and how I should design my lesson plans accordingly.

Internet searching is beneficial because it provides answers to simple and difficult questions. It is important to know how to search the internet as a teacher so I can research lesson plans, and quite literally any question I have. I use all of the internet searching skills that were shown during this lesson, specifically google scholar. I’ve had to write many research papers throughout my life so it's pretty easy for me to find exactly what i'm looking for.

Digital Native

I used to use MS Word when I was younger, than I got a Macbook Air during high school and switched over to Google Docs. My high school used Google Classroom and gmail, so I only used Google software, rather than any MS software. I prefer using Google software because it is easier to me, and I like the layout and accessibility to apps much more.

The Leader portion of the ISTE Standards for Educators was the most meaning full standard to me because I think that children becoming empowered and put in leadership positions is beneficial for all. It helps children learn about responsibility and confidence. I was in a leadership position in most of the clubs and organizations that I've been in, so I've seen first hand how someone grows from being in a position of power.
I agree with the term "digital native." It means to have grown up learning and surrounded by tech, becoming very used to dealing with it. Yes theres a difference between digital natives and teachers, most of the time in high school, the student would have to show the teacher how to do things on their computers. It has impacted my life because everything is online now. All my classes are online, I'm not sure what they'd be like if they weren't. I assume as life goes on, technology will keep advancing and taking over, and my future students will most likely have to show me new things.
